Mara Nyika boasts incredible facilities, with a spacious main area overlooking the wilderness, with a library to read while admiring the passing wildlife. For wine enthusiasts, an on-site wine cellar is available for tours and special meals.
Of course, a holiday isn’t complete without bringing home a few souvenirs. The Great Plains Safari Boutique stocks Beverly Joubert’s (co-founder of Great Plains Conservation) d&b explorer collection of stylish safari clothing as well as other memorabilia.
Mara Nyika Camp currently offers guests four luxury guest suites and one 2-bedroom family tent. The private Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika is also available.The suites are large, elevated, tree house-styled canvas linked to the main area by raised wooden walkways.
Each guest suite is 1,000 sq. feet in size, offering an indoor private lounge and separate en-suite bathrooms complete with brass baths, double vanity basins, and an indoor shower.The 2-bedroom Family Suite encompasses a common lounge area flanked by two bedrooms and two en-suite bathrooms. One bathroom is complete with an indoor shower and brass bath, and the second bathroom offers a shower only.A private veranda of each Suite is yours to enjoy as they extend out into the natural world surrounding your suite.

Mara Nyika Sambuk Suite
The private 2-bedroomed Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika is part of Mara Nyika Camp and a member of the Great Plains Conservation Réserve-Collection of safari camps. Together, they are located in the private 20,000-hectare Naboisho Conservancy. This is a unique area to explore and forms the perfect juxtaposition to one’s safari when combining your stay with our other Kenyan Safari Camps.
Typical of the Maasai Mara’s ancient Nyika is the flat-topped Acacia kirkii trees. The Dereck Joubert-designed Sambuk Suite takes advantage of these umbrella-thorn trees’ shade. While the Mara Nyika Camp is in a valley straddling a small stream, this 2-bedroomed suite is set away from the main camp area and up high under the tree’s canopy to offer guests awe-inspiring views out over the bush and total privacy.
When residing at the Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika, guests automatically enjoy the services of a private butler, safari drive vehicle, and wildlife guide, ensuring a private luxury safari in Kenya when exploring the Naboisho Conservancy.
Guests can enjoy in-room spa treatments and visit the bush boutique for retail therapy in the main camp area (an easy walk away).The 2-bedroomed Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika and Mara Nyika Camp are also proud Relais & Châteaux members.Each wildlife experience from our camps is unique and offers guests the opportunity to experience the different Mara faces, which is an unbelievable bonus.f

This combination allows one to experience all three wildlife areas: the private Naboisho Conservancies, combining perfectly with the private Olare Motorogi and Maasai Mara National Reserve, resulting in the ultimate luxury safari in Kenya.

NOTES
- Fully inclusive of accommodation, all national park and reserve conservation fees, scheduled wildlife viewing activities on Naboisho Conservancy, all meals, laundry service, return airstrip road transfers, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages including premium brand spirits and champagne.
- Every 3 night + stay includes one day’s wildlife viewing in the Maasai Mara Reserve per stay. For guests staying 1 or 2 nights only, an additional Maasai Mara National Reserve entrance fee is applicable.
- Exclusive of mandatory nightly Great Plains Foundation conservation levy, spa treatments, wildlife viewing activities in the Maasai Mara National Reserve for those staying only 1 or 2 nights, and hot air ballooning which should be booked in advance.
- The return scheduled seat in plane air transfers from Nairobi Wilson or properties in the greater Maasai Mara region to this camp area automatically included in the full nightly rate – subject to a minimum 2-night stay. Where air transfers are from properties located outside of these routings, the standard applicable flying costs will apply.
- Local airlines offer twice daily scheduled flights between Nairobi’s Wilson airport and Naboisho (Ol Seki) airstrip. Schedule and rates available on request. Minimum 2 guests required per flight.
- Local airlines use a variety of aircraft ranging from a Cessna Caravan (12 seats) to a 40-seat aircraft. The flying times are approximate as the service could land at additional airstrips en route, depending on passenger demand.
- * For all multiple single-room reservations in shoulder and low season, a single supplement will apply from the 2nd single room.
- Each guest suite, including the Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika, includes one pair of high quality binoculars and a professional camera set,including camera body and lenses for guest’s complimentary use. Photos will be downloaded to a memory stick on guest’s departure.
- Check out time is 09:00am and guests may use public areas until departure. Late checkouts are unfortunately not available.
CHILD POLICY
- Children are accommodated from a minimum age of 6 years.
- Activities will cater to family ability & safety. Some activities may have a specific age-related restriction
MARA NYIKA CAMP: GUEST SUITES
- Child rates are applicable for up to one child aged 15 and younger sharing with two adults in a suite.
- Children 16 and older will pay applicable adult rate and be accommodated in a separate suite.
- Families will be combined with other guests for all wildlife viewing activities.
2 BEDROOM FAMILY SUITE
- The 2-Bedroom Family Suite can accommodate a family of 4 guests.
- Nightly rates include the services of a private safari drive vehicle and guide.
THE SAMBUK SUITE AT MARA NYIKA
- The Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika is an exclusive use two-bedroom suite that can accommodate 4 adults sharing or a maximum of 5guests for families with children (aged 6 – 15 years). Exceptions may apply.
- Child rates and private vehicle requirements do not apply because the Suite is sold on exclusive use basis only.
