At Angama Mara, every day is a new adventure. Offering a diverse range of activities, guests are invited to partake in once-in-a-lifetime experiences that create lasting memories amidst the wild beauty of the Masai Mara. Here’s a peek into what you can expect:

The celebrated Mara Triangle is part of the expansive Masai Mara ecosystem, renowned for its thriving populations of wildlife. Guests can explore the area through morning, afternoon, or full-day game drives, with expert guides leading the way. Behold the spectacle of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and many other species in their natural habitat.

Experience the magic of the Mara from the skies with a hot-air balloon safari. Glide over the vast savannah at sunrise, witnessing the magnificent wildlife below and enjoying the tranquility of the early morning hours. Conclude this bucket-list experience with a delightful champagne breakfast in the bush.

For a more intimate encounter with nature, take a walking safari along the edge of the Great Rift Valley. Accompanied by an armed ranger and Maasai naturalist, discover the smaller wonders of the bush and engage in informative discussions about the flora, fauna, and ecosystem.

Gain insight into the rich culture of the Maasai people with a visit to a nearby village. Learn about their traditional ways of life, partake in ceremonies, and admire their renowned beadwork and crafts. This is a unique opportunity to respectfully immerse yourself in local traditions and customs.

Whether you’re an amateur or seasoned photographer, Angama Mara’s photographic safaris cater to all levels. With professional equipment available for hire and expert guides to help you capture stunning wildlife shots, you’re bound to go home with impressive photographs.

Savor a variety of al fresco dining options, from bush breakfasts after an early game drive to picturesque picnics with panoramic views. Enjoy sundowners on the escarpment as the day transitions to night, a time when the Mara truly sparkles under African skies.

For those seeking to celebrate their love in an extraordinary setting, Angama Mara offers breathtaking venues for weddings and vow renewals. Enchant your guests with a ceremony set against the backdrop of the Mara, complemented by the warmth of Maasai hospitality.

Engage with local conservation efforts through the Mara Elephant Project or visit the Mara Conservancy’s Canine Unit. These experiences provide valuable insight into wildlife protection and offer guests a chance to contribute to vital initiatives.

Angama Mara is a destination filled with encounters that stir the soul, ensuring every guest departs with a richer understanding of this magnificent corner of the world.

Indulge in a day full of enchanting experiences:

  • Sunrise: A warm morning welcome with a cappuccino and freshly baked Maasai honey biscuits from your personal butler.
  • Morning: Witness the awe-inspiring sunrise amidst the abundant wildlife of the Mara Triangle as you embark on an early morning safari.
  • Midday: Embrace the serenity of the savannah with a picnic lunch under an Acacia tree, sharing the space with the plains’ majestic elephants.
  • Afternoon: Leisurely explore the lodge’s Shamba (kitchen garden), followed by a relaxing session with chilled rosé wine under the expansive African sky.

Angama Mara is not just about the luxurious accommodations but also about the unique experiences that it offers:

Customer Reviews of Angama Mara

Victoria Schmidt ★★★★★

“Magical! That’s the first word that comes to mind when I think of Angama Mara. From the thrilling hot-air balloon ride at dawn to the mesmerizing sunsets over the savannah, every experience was like a dream. The staff’s attentiveness and the luxurious tented suites added to the unforgettable adventure. The wildlife encounters were up-close and personal, thanks to the knowledgeable guides. My visit to the local Maasai village was enriching and gave me a deep appreciation for the culture. Truly, this is more than just a place to stay – it’s where every second counts in making lifelong memories.”

Daniel Huang ★★★★☆

“Exquisite! Angama Mara provided an experience that nearly surpassed every other safari lodge I’ve visited. The views of the Maasai Mara are unrivaled, especially from the private deck of my tent. The level of comfort in the wilderness is extraordinary, although the nightly rate is on the pricier side. The game drives were superb, and I managed to photograph a variety of animals in their natural habitat. However, I was a little disappointed by the Wi-Fi connectivity, which can be spotty—understandable given the remote location but still something to note for those requiring constant connection.”

Emily Robinson ★★★★★

“Absolutely breathtaking! Angama Mara is the epitome of African luxury in the wild. The elegance of the tented suites is beyond words, with every imaginable amenity at your disposal. Waking up to a panoramic view of the Mara every morning was spectacular. The culinary offerings were a highlight, with delicious meals served in stunning outdoor settings. The staff made us feel like royalty and were genuinely friendly. The lodge also demonstrates a commitment to conservation which is very impressive. This was more than a vacation; it was an experience that touched my heart and soul.”
