Enkewa Mara Camp-The Ultimate Safari Experience

Enkewa Camp is a small, exclusive, luxury tented camp in the heart of the least explored area of the Masai Mara. An owner-run camp, Enkewa is based on an eco-sustainable concept with a knowledgeable, experienced, and professional team formed by local Masai. The Camp has a capacity of 5 tents, one Mess tent, and a Lounge area. The tents are comfortable and spacious with views over the savanna. Our priority is that our clients feel at home away from home and enjoy a unique and authentic wildlife experience far from the transited areas.

Accommodation

Enkewa luxury tents are all fully insect-proof, with en-suite bathrooms that include a flushing toilet, running cold water, and hot safari showers. The strategic placing of the tents has been carefully chosen according to a geobiology analysis (magnetic fields and radiations), which contributes to better sleep. As per the camp’s eco-friendly ethos, we exclusively use solar energy—provided 24 hours—to avoid the use of generators or pumps that might interfere with our guests’ rest.

Activities

Enkewa Camp offers a varied range of activities. Besides tracking the Big 5 and enjoying Masai Mara birdlife and its unique and diverse landscapes, guests can access nearby waterfalls. Hot-air balloon rides can also be organized, and for those interested in local Masai culture, we offer visits to a traditional Masai village introduced by one of our staff members, as well as trips to the local market or the community projects we support. Bush breakfasts/lunches and sundowners are also part of our itineraries.

Enkewa Camp is children-friendly, and different programs for children can be arranged.

Feel our wildlife

Our privileged location inside the National Reserve together with our philosophy of tracking and searching for our own wildlife sightings far from the transited areas, makes the Enkewa safari experience amongst the best in the Masai Mara.

We are located in superb big5 country with access to 4 different lion prides within minutes from camp as well as the best leopard territory inside the reserve. The Black rhino density in our area is the highest in the entire Maasai Mara-Serengeti Eco-System.

For centuries the Maasai tribe has learned to coexist with its surroundings and its wildlife and our experienced and skilled Maasai spotters –trackers- will read all signs in order to find the best opportunities to observe the wildlife of the African Savannah.

Our custom built 4×4 vehicles allow us to access the most remote places where we avoid the more crowded routes of the Mara as well as to enjoy privacy during our safaris.
