Adventure Itinerary
Day 1
Our representative will collect you from Jomo Kenyatta Airport and take you to your accommodation for the night which is a 30 minute drive away and located on the border of the Nairobi National Park. This family-owned luxury lodge allows you to be immersed immediately into a wildlife environment that you have travelled so far to enjoy. Whether you are enjoying a cocktail in the viewing area or sipping a coffee by the pool overlooking the river, relaxation is assured. The Nairobi National Park has a large and diverse wildlife population. Species found in the park include buffalo, baboon, black rhinos, gazelle, zebra, cheetah, hartebeest, hippos, leopard, lion, eland, impala, Masai giraffe, ostrich, vultures and waterbuck.

Day 2
After breakfast, take a short 40-minute flight to Borana Conservancy, a 32,000 acre conservation area that combines ranching with wildlife management. Your guide will be waiting to collect you and will take you on a leisurely game drive back to the lodge. After lunch head out on another a game drive to familiarise yourself with the layout of the land and take in the diverse variety of wildlife on the ranch. Borana Conservancy is home to the Big Five as well as many other species of animals and birds.

Day 3
After an early morning wake up, depart for a morning excursion either by car, on a mountain bike or from the back of a horse and enjoy the beauty and wonder of the natural world. Stop for a bush picnic near the river and return to the lodge as and when you feel like it for some relaxation time. You may like to meet members of the Dyer family who own the ranch and learn more about the conservancy and its future plans with all the challenges it faces

Day 4
Wake up early to experience rhino tracking on foot with the dedicated team of armed rangers. The Borana Conservancy rangers are required to track each individual rhino once a day. Viewing such large creatures on foot provides an exhilarating experience as well as an insight into the life of the anti-poaching team. Head out for an early evening drive and end with a short walk onto Pride Rock, the original inspiration for Disney’s film The Lion King. Here you will enjoy panoramic views of the conservancy where drinks and canapes will be served.

Day 5
After breakfast, take a chartered flight northward to one of the local community conservancies in the heart of the Kenyan wilderness. This is a chance to explore and experience the arid semi-desert landscape, where you may meet local pastoralists and see small pockets of wildlife. This is an open air camping experience, sleeping in light weight tents or outside under the stars. The camp is well equipped with all the amenities you need to be comfortable whilst capturing the true essence of a safari.

Day 6
After breakfast in camp head out for the day’s activities. Depending on the itinerary, these range from guided walks, a drive to see the daily rituals and learn about the culture of the local pastoralists and enjoy some glimpses of the rare northern species of game. Helicopter safaris offer a spectacular flight into the mountains and lakes of the north. Early mornings and evenings are the most active times of day while it is cooler, resting up in the in the middle of the day when it is hottest. Evening showers to wash off the dust with a cold drink by the camp fire and dinner under the stars complete the day.

Day 7
After breakfast fly north to the Namunyak Wildlife Conversation Trust; an area of approximately 850,000 acres which lies folded around the southern corner of the fabled Mathews Mountain Range of Northern Kenya. Visit the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary located within the Conservancy. Set up with the help of the Northern Rangeland Trust, this community owned project strengthens community welfare and co-operation between the tribes with the united cause to protect the wildlife.
The orphans, who have been rescued from often traumatic circumstances are fed every three hours with a special milk formula individually prepared to help the animals in the best way possible. The keepers invest a huge amount of time watching and observing their behaviour, to nurture and support their mental and physical needs with a view of one day returning them to live with wild herds.
Enjoy lunch at Sarara lodge and a relaxed afternoon by the pool where many wild elephant visit to drink from the spring. Take an evening walk or drive in the local area for sundowners.

Day 8
Fly to the Maasai Mara whose eco-system is probably one of the most famous wildlife areas in the world. Staying in the Mara North Conservancy, you have a vast area in which to see some of the most exciting game viewing on the planet. Scenes involving predators are common on the open plains and the eco-system is so diverse with animals and birds that there is always something new to observe and enjoy. Your guides are extraordinarily good at spotting these animals and their knowledge is extensive.

Day 9
You have options and each day is tailor made to what suits you best whether it be a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride seeing the animals wake up as the sun rises, a bush walk with knowledgeable guides that can help you spot animals and birds not able to be seen in a vehicle. We will do our upmost to make it happen.

Day 10
Spend your last day in this magnificent game park on a game drive with a bush breakfast or lunch overlooking the Mara River which is home to large groups of crocodiles and hippos.

Day 11
Fly back to Nairobi for your onward flight to Lamu where you will be whisked off by speedboat to this small boutique lodge located on the tip of an un-spoilt, idyllic island getaway in Lamu’s archipelago. You will be served with delicious home cooked meals using locally available seafood and lashings of lime, ginger, coconut and local spices and herbs making the meals something to remember. Relax and enjoy a swim in the sea, an evening fish in the boat or a walk along the beach to stretch the legs.

Day 12
This is a beach destination with a difference. Activities are plentiful and range from exploring the nearby Manda ruins, visiting the resident herd of buffalo, bird watching, deep sea fishing, water activities, visiting the nearby ancient Swahili town of Lamu or simply enjoying being by the ocean.

Enjoy a leisurely morning relaxing overlooking the Indian Ocean or take this opportunity to take part in a final activity including kite-surfing, kayaking or stand up paddle boarding. End your trip with a three course lunch before heading back to Lamu for your flight back to Nairobi and onward international flight home.
