Your acacia-shaded canvas kingdom from which to set forth among the big cats and elephants of Tarangire National Park. The camp’s name alludes to its resident herd of impala, though their presence at the waterhole attracts a lot of other wildlife.

Shaded by baobab trees in a secluded corner of Tarangire National Park, Swala Camp evokes a uniquely still atmosphere. Renovated in 2018, this permanent tented safari camp’s 12 contemporary, open-plan canvas pavilions overlook the floodplains from large decks. Each one features an en suite bathroom, updated decor and indoor/outdoor shower. Other updates include expanded deck space and main areas centered around a new gin bar and boma. Meals are served on the main dining deck beneath the shade of an ancient baobab tree. Quiet bush lunches can be arranged. Renovated in 2018, this luxury safari lodge’s 14 pavilions blur the lines of indoor and outdoor space with stone and glass finishes, each with a private veranda overlooking the Mara River.
