Situated in the southwest of Kenya, covering an area of 1,510 square km (583 square miles), the Masai Mara National Reserve is a land of breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife and endless plains.
The quintessential Masai Mara safari delivers many attractions, as the reserve is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game, including the more than two million wildebeest, zebras and other antelopes that make up the famous Great Migration. &Beyond owns 2 lodges in the Masai Mara; Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp and Bateleur Camp.
The reserve is a photographer’s and naturalist’s paradise, with abundant elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion and cheetah alongside the migratory wildebeest and zebra. Leopards are frequently encountered, endangered black rhino hide in the dense thickets and large rafts of hippo and enormous crocodiles are found in the Mara River. The park is also home to over 450 bird species.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya’s capital city of Nairobi, you will be met by an &Beyond representative. Depending on the Kenya airport authority personnel, they will either be waiting for you (holding a sign with your name on it) as you enter the airport building after getting off your flight or just after immigrations. The representative will then assist you through customs and with your luggage before escorting you to the pickup area where a member of our &Beyond team will be waiting to drive you to Wilson Airport for your onward flight to &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Airstrip to begin your Masai Mara adventure.

Suyian Conservancy shelters a remarkable 17 806 hectares (44 000 acres) of prime wilderness and conservation land in Laikipia, Kenya.
Named after the African wild dog in the local Maa language, Suyian Conservancy covers approximately 17 806 hectares (44 000 acres) of prime wilderness and conservation land in the northwest region of Laikipia in central Kenya. Nestled between the southeast and northwest Laikipia Conservancies, with the Ewaso Narok River on its eastern boundary and the snow-capped silhouette of Mt Kenya as its backdrop, Suyian forms part of a vital wildlife movement corridor, and harbours one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in the Laikipia ecosystem. As a whole, Suyian forms part of over 80,937 hectares (200,000 acres) of privately managed land, with conservation at its core.
Transformed from pure cattle ranching to land managed for conservation with a limited number of cattle, today Suyian combines rapidly evolving conservation practices with the opportunity for community development. Home to over 100 types of mammals, plus numerous endangered and non-endangered species, Suyian’s variety of compelling landscapes, which includes grassland, savanna, rocky outcrops or kopjes, dense Vechellia woodland, plus more than 16 km (10 mi) of river frontage, offers unforgettable views and sightings. The conservancy’s thriving wildlife population includes rarities such as the elusive black (melanistic) leopard and African wild dog, as well as northern Kenyan species like Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, desert warthog, and more.
Located within a malaria-free area, with its remarkable wildlife and varying landscapes, Suyian is the ideal destination not only for a more exclusive, somewhat wild, conservation-in-action safari, but also for an intimate and private African bush experience. Guests at Suyian Conservancy experience interpretive game drives led by professionally trained &Beyond guides, guided bush walks, camel and horseback safaris, and community experiences, as well as a wide range of other optional activities. Easily accessed by air or road from Nairobi, Suyian is also the ideal gateway to more remote explorations, such as scenic helicopter flights to Mt Kenya and visits to Lake Turkana.
Suyian Conservancy is home to one lodge, &Beyond Suyian Lodge.
After breakfast at the lodge, your &Beyond guide will drive you to the &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Airstrip for your flight onward to Loisaba Airstrip.
