Safari Experiences

Lake Nakuru is a haven for flamingoes and many species of bird life. The National Park is home to both White Rhino and the endangered Black Rhino and sightings are almost a certainty. Lions and leopards are often seen although rarely on open ground and the park is plentiful with buffalo, zebra and giraffe.
Game Drives

Game Drives:Driving tracks around the lake ensure that you can enjoy a self-driven safari in your own vehicle or you can hire one with a guide from the lodge. Chilles drinks can be arranged for you on request.

Bird Watching

Bird Watching:Lake Nakuru National Park is home to one of the most amazing ornithological spectacles in the world – the flight of the flamingos! This park is a bird lovers paradise playing host to over 450 species. But of all the experiences, none is more spectacular or more awe-inspiring than the seasonal great mass of pink flamingos when they ring the lake, constantly fluttering, fleeting and feeding on the algae in these rich alkaline waters. Every year, mostly after the long rains (April/May), the flamingos perform a mating dance – a seemingly orchestrated spectacle which is a truly amazing to watch.

Baboon Cliff

Baboon Cliff:The Baboon Cliff is located on one of the highest points on the hills surrounding the lake. The breathtaking views will keep you wanting to sit in the beauty and stillness of nature. Getting there just before sunset is a truly magical experience but be sure to return to the lodge in good time.

Makalia Falls
  • Makalia Falls:Cascading waters in all their power, Makalia Falls are located on the extreme southern end of Lake Nakuru National Park. You can also ask the lodge if you are able to get a warden to accompany you so that you can get out of the car and climb the rocks around the falls. On occasion in certain seasons the waterfall dries up, so be sure to ask the lodge to check before you depart on this adventure.
A Visit to Menengai Crater
  • Visit the Menengai Crater:Located on the northern side of Nakuru and whose volcanic activity is now extinct, The Menengai Crater is one of the largest craters in the world. For the adventurer, an 8-kilometre trek up to the historic crater allows you one of the most striking vistas, with Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria, and the crater itself coming into full view.
