Lewa Wilderness Lodge-The Best Lewa Lodges Prices and Availability

At dawn, when the sun spills gold across the rolling hills of northern Kenya, Lewa Wilderness Lodge awakens with the sound of birdsong and the distant silhouettes of giraffes. Perched above the Eastern Marania Valley in the heart of the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, this lodge feels less like a hotel and more like a family home deeply rooted in the rhythms of nature and conservation. Itโ€™s a place where safari is more than an activityโ€”itโ€™s a way of life passed down through generations.

From the moment you arrive, youโ€™ll notice the rare blend of warmth and wilderness. Nine beautifully designed cottagesโ€”six hillside thatched cottages with sweeping valley views and three garden cottages tucked into lush lawnsโ€”offer privacy, comfort, and charm. For families and groups, the Private Wilderness homestead provides an exclusiveโ€use retreat, complete with its own cottages, staff, and activities.

Meals are shared in the homestead, often around a fire under the stars, creating a sense of connection with fellow travelers. Beyond the comfort, every stay supports Lewaโ€™s pioneering conservation and community projects, ensuring your visit makes a difference.

Why Choose Lewa Wilderness Lodge?

Prime Location in Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

Set within the acclaimed Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Lewa Wilderness Lodge offers guests front-row access to one of Africaโ€™s most inspiring conservation success stories. The 65,000-acre conservancy is home to a thriving population of endangered black and white rhinos, large elephant herds, rare Grevyโ€™s zebras, and more than 440 bird species. Its rolling plains, acacia forests, and views of Mount Kenya make every game drive feel cinematic. Being part of Lewa means your safari not only delivers incredible wildlife sightings but also directly contributes to safeguarding these species for generations to come.

Luxury Safari Cottages with Authentic Charm

Accommodation at Lewa Wilderness blends rustic elegance with the comfort of home. Guests can choose from nine private cottages: six hillside thatched cottages with sweeping views across the Marania Valley, and three spacious garden cottages nestled among manicured lawnsโ€”perfect for families. Each cottage is individually designed, combining local materials with thoughtful details to create a sense of warmth and character. For those seeking complete privacy, the Private Wilderness homestead offers a main house and five cottages, available exclusively for families or groups. With attentive service and stunning views, the lodgeโ€™s accommodations provide the perfect balance of seclusion and luxury.

Unique Safari Experiences and Activities

What sets Lewa Wilderness apart is the sheer variety of safari adventures available. In addition to traditional game drives, guests can experience the landscape on horseback with professionally guided horseback safaris, catering to both beginners and experienced riders. Thrill-seekers can soar over the conservancy in a vintage WACO bi-plane, enjoying breathtaking aerial views. For a slower pace, guided bush walks and camel rides allow you to immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and scents of the African wilderness. More adventurous travelers may opt for fly camping, sleeping under the stars in the heart of the bush. Back at the lodge, a salt-water infinity pool, yoga deck, bush gym, tennis court, and table tennis offer plenty of ways to unwind after a day of exploration.

Conservation at the Heart of Every Stay

Lewa Wilderness is more than a safari lodgeโ€”it is a living example of conservation in action. Every stay supports Lewa Wildlife Conservancyโ€™s pioneering projects, from rhino protection and anti-poaching initiatives to education programs and healthcare for local communities. Guests can even participate in behind-the-scenes activities, learning how tourism directly funds the safeguarding of endangered wildlife and supports surrounding villages.
