This lodge is family owned and operated. Guests are hosted by a dedicated team of extraordinary Kenyans, many of whom grew up here or built the lodge with the Grant’s. This fun, energetic and attentive team will look after you like family. With 14,000 acres of private land and views of over 200,000 acres, El Karama is one of Laikipia’s most magical habitats.Offering a range of accommodation options giving our guests the opportunity to completely immerse themselves in nature, lead by passionate and experienced guides.

The Bush Kitchen

All the Lodge food is home-made, 90% is home-grown in our organic garden at the farm HQ and all of the meat is locally sourced if not from here then from within a 60km radius. The only fish we offer is locally sourced.All meals are hearty and clean, full of herbs, fresh vegetables and salads and lots of flavour. You can expect a full cooked breakfast, fruit smoothies and home made healthy juices, buffet lunches, afternoon tea and a three course meal in the evening – we promise you won’t go hungry! Using eco-charcoal ovens, our chefs produce freshly baked rosemary breads, shortbread cookies and cakes for tea. You are welcome to come to the kitchen to see what we’re up to and to learn about “bush” cooking styles.
