Wilderness Retreat Safari
10 day flying Safari:Saruni Samburu – Kitich Camp – Saruni Mara
Samburu – Matthews Range – Masai Mara

Take on the wilderness, journeying through the forests of the Matthews range and the vast plains of Samburu and the Masai Mara.  Spend 9 nights at the most exquisite camps, enjoying nature’s peace and tranquillity, the finest delicacies as you unwind in the beauty of your surrounding flora and fauna.

Day 1- Saruni Samburu-Samburu National Reserve
On arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by a Beyond Kenya Safaris representative who will transfer you to Wilson Airport.  Here you will connect with the 10h20 Safari link flight to Samburu.  On arrival you will be met and transferred to the lodge which is set within 95,000 hecteres of private wildlife conservancy, and perched on top of a spectacular viewpoint.  It has four rooms and a large swimming pool which overlook several waterholes where the famous Samburu elephant, leopard, reticulated giraffe and grevy’s zebra gather to drink.  Saruni Samburu offers activities such as game driving, cultural visits, bush walks and meals as well as featuring a massage and beauty treatment centre called the Samburu Wellbeing Space.  The feeling of exclusivity and high level of comfort is one of its kind.

Day 4 – Kitich Camp-Mathews Range
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your private charter fight to the Mathews Range departing at 10h00.  The Mathews Mountain Range rise up out of the desert, a chain of peaks covered in dense dewy forest.  In a remote valley, Kitich Camp overlooks a river glade within the lush indigenous forest.  The forest is home to elephant, melanistic leopard, bushbuck, giant forest hog, rhino and ancient cycads, spectacular butterflies, Turacos and wild orchids.  With only four guest tents one can expect complete privacy.  Each en-suite tent is traditionally safari style with an alfresco stone bathroom.  Walk along the forest paths guided by the Samburu people or swim in natural rock pools of the crystal mountain streams.

Day 7 – Saruni Mara Camp-Masai Mara,
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your private charter flight departing at 08h30 to Nanyuki, here you will connect with the Air Kenya scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. The Masai Mara offers a true wildlife experience, one that is hard to duplicate anwhere else in the world.  Your driver-guide will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to camp with game viewing en-route.  Saruni is a deluxe and intimate lodge set in a private conservation area.  Nestled into the hills of northern Mara, overlooking a gorge populated by elephant and buffalo.  Saruni has the wide open game plains to the south and forest to the north.  There are six spectacular cottages all furnished with colonial antiques, Persian carpets and African art.  The atmosphere of the camp is informal but elegant.  The camp offers its own private spa treatment centre, the ‘Masai Well-being space’.  Activities include day and night game drives, bush meals and sundowners, cultural visits and bush walks led by highly qualified Masai guides.

Day 10 – Depart
After a last game drive in the Masai Mara, catch the 11h00 Safarilink flight back to Nairobi. A Cheli & Peacock representative will meet and transfer you to your Nairobi hotel or to the international airport for your journey home
