Any One cannot be more awe-inspired by the contrasts and enormity of the African landscape than upon arrival at Tortilis lodge, an award-winning, ecotourism lodge in Amboseli National Park.Tortilis Lodge was built with a sensitive eye to its surrounding environment and sits nestled in a verdant acacia grove at the foot of the majestic, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro.Tortilis Lodge luxury tents are equipt with a private en-suite bathrooms and have unrivalled views of the mountain which makes this the ultimate place from which to get up close & personal with the abundant wildlife, especially Amboseli’s famous land leviathan, the African Elephant
Amboseli is best known for its unrivalled views of Kilimanjaro and the local elephant population. There are over 1000 elephants in the parks eco-system, featuring some of the largest in Africa. Tortilis Lodge is named after the flat-topped, umbrella thorn tree, the Acacia Tortilis, and is situated in one of Amboseli's areas of Acacia Tortilis woodland, with the majestic backdrop of Africa's highest mountain, and the World’s highest free-standing mountain, snow-capped Kilimanjaro. Game drives, walks, sundowners and bush meals take place both inside the park, and within a private 30,000 acre game concession.

The Tortilis Lodge tents are all large and spacious, with king or twin beds, elegant en suite bathrooms. There is a main lounge, bar and dining area, all exquisitely built with natural materials and thatched roofs, with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro.
With mountain peering down over the entire Lodge, Tortilis Lodge’s tents are inviting and luxurious:17 spacious en-suite tents.Each makuti-covered tent consists of a main bedroom (with wooden floors), permanent en-suite bathroom (hot running water, stone floors, shower and flush toilet) and spacious veranda.
For those travelling with their family the Tortilis Family House is the ideal place to stay in and consists of 1 en-suite double bedroom, 1 en-suite twin bedroom, and a spacious sitting / dining room with veranda.
All tents at Tortilis Lodge can fit one extra bed, for children under the age of 16 yrs only.

Owned and Managed by professional guides, Tortilis Lodge emphasis is on a complete safari experience – fun, intellectually stimulating, oneness with nature: During the day, you can take game drives with one of our guides in an open 4WD vehicle or go for a guided walk outside the park with one of our expert Maasai guides.
