Straddling the Sand River at
the southern end of the Maasai Mara, Sala’s Camp lies within the spectacular Mara National Reserve itself. The Mara
is the most famous and most visited reserve in Kenya, an area of savannah and grassland, approx 1510sq kms, at an altitude
of 5000ft. This secluded spot is nestled on the convergence of two rivers and offers tranquillity and tremendous views along the Sand River towards Tanzania and the Serengeti. From your tent you will be able to enjoy at abundance of birdlife and wildlife. Camp food is cooked in the traditional appetizing safari style, using a camp fire, and assisted with a gas cooker. Home baked pastries, breads and biscuits are a speciality. Produce is all farm sourced and free from artificial pesticides. We offer a combination of international dishes and a variety of food to suit all tastes. Children`s needs and special dietary requirements can easily be catered for. Sala’s Camp Safari Activities Activities are complemented by the personal approach of Sala's Camp knowledgeable team and include morning and afternoon game drives; bush breakfast and lunches, sundowners and shared fire-side experiences. Vehicles are designed for maximum comfort with game viewing made easy and fun through large roof hatches all with window seats ensuring several vantage points to watch and photograph wildlife and birds. Other activities include Balloon safaris and visits to Masai villages which can be arranged by the Sala's Camp team. Itineraries are flexible and emphasis is laid on a relaxed yet service orientated approach. Sala's Camp is easily accessible by road and only 40 minutes from Sekanni Gate. Keekorok airstrip is twenty minutes from the camp and is serviced by several daily scheduled flights from Nairobi and the coast. Private charters can land at Keekorok airstrip. Masai Mara Camps Rates Per person Sharing
513 Sala’s Resident Rates in
Kenya Shillings RATES INCLUDE: accommodation, all meals, game drives, walks, cultural village visits, laundry, airstrip transfers, house wines, beers, soft drinks, local spirits and bottled water, VAT. RATES EXCLUDE: Champagne, luxury spirits, selected wines, balloon rides, gratuities, health insurance and personal effects. Road Transfers on request, but as a benchmark US$ 180 per vehicle between camps in the Mara. CHILDREN: For the purpose of rates, children are aged 3 years – 11 years and 365 days. Persons aged 12 and above are considered adults. Infants (aged 0 – 2 yrs and 365 days) stay free of charge. CHECK OUT TIME: Guests need to be out of their rooms by 10am, although they can continue to use other facilities in camp. Please note that extra lunches are charged at US$ 30 (non-commissionable). Please note we are unable to facilitate late departures. CLOSURE: Sala’s Camp is a seasonal camp; open mid-June to mid-October; mid-December to mid-March.
