Porini Lion Camp is located in the exclusive 20,000 acre Olare Orok Conservancy. This expansive conservancy, which borders the Masai Mara Game Reserve is home to an abundance
of animals including the Big Cats for which the Mara is famous.
The best
thing about Porini Lion camp is its location in the wonderful Olare Orok conservancy, where vehicle traffic
is low and domestic animals are excluded. Porini Lion camp itself is of medium specification, and what
makes this place exceptional is the price. Small camps in prime locations not charging top dollar are in very short supply
these days.
Porini Lion camp is situated only a few kilometers from
the Mara Game Reserve and a 30-minute drive from the Talek Gate. The Ol Kiombo airstrip used by the daily scheduled flights
to Mara from Nairobi is a short 25-minute drive from camp.
The Porini Lion Camp:
Porini Lion Camp is an eco-friendly with no permanent construction and is situated along
the Ntiakatiak River River, a seasonal river with permanent hippo pools.Porini Lion camp has only 10 very exclusive guest
tents giving you a real in the bush experience. The tents are very spacious and have private verandahs along the length of
the tent, providing a secluded and private ‘space’ for you to relax and enjoy the beauty of this African wilderness.
Each tent has en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. Food is excellent with fresh baked bread and high quality
meals prepared by the camp Chef Chef.
Safari Activities at Porini Lion Camp
Daily game drive custom built open-sided 4x4 wheel drive with a qualified safari guides able
to educate the guests about the wildlife species,flora, fauna and people of the surrounding areas
Sundowner in a carefully selected scenic spot, to enjoy a drink while watching
the sun go down.A night game drive is taken on the way back to camp, giving guests the opportunity to see many of the elusive
nocturnal animals.

The Olare Orok Conservation
The Olare Orok Conservancy where the porini Lion Camp is located is owned by the Local Maasai
community who are receive direct benefit from abundant wildlife found here whicn they see as a valuable resource which
belongs to them. They earn a direct income from each guest who visit and stay in the conservancy and also much needed employment
for their members. Other than the head chef, camp manager and head guide all the other camp staff are from the surrounding
communities.
Porini Lion Camp is run and maintained with
the conservation of the environment at the forefront. The numbers of tourist visitors in the conservancy are being limited
to retain the wild and unspoilt nature of the area and to minimise the impact on the environment. During their stay our guests
have various opportunities to learn about the local Maasai people and how the Olare Orok Conservancy and Lion Camps’
goals are aligned with theirs. We have a written environmental policy in regards to water, land, energy, solid waste and sewage
which is adhered to by the camp management.
