Mara Timbo Camp
Location:Mara Timbo Campis ideally situated in the most untamed environment below the Oloololo escarpment directly in a loop of Mara River with a panoramic view of two breeding herds of hippos and basking crocodiles. The camp is set up on a part of a big 50 acres plot. The camp is accessible by road and by air in only 40 minutes flight from Nairobi Wilson airport.
Accommodations:Seven spacious and luxurious tents with tastefully decorated interiors,warm blends of colour and unique furnishings offer accommodation at Mara Timbo. All materials are natural and from the area, so the camp fits perfectly to the African nature.
The spacious 45sqm luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms are all under canvas with grass thatched roofing providing cool temperatures during the day. Every tent stands on a 65sqm big terrace equipped with a cosy sitting area and low beds, a swing, the possibility of private dinner and a bathtub, so that guests will be able to watch the hippos in the Mara River while talking a bath. The neighbours are far away.
The facilities in the tent include a king-size bed make out of local furniture, a safe deposit for your valuables, enough space for placing the clothing’s, a bathroom with double sinks, hot and cold shower, flush toilet, 220/240volt power supply and amenities for use by the guests.
Exclusive Personal Butler Service A personal butler will be assigned to your tent during your stay to ensure that service is provided from Food & Beverage Service, Bush Excursions, Special anniversaries and room service. Our butlers are female, extensively trained to maintain and enhance the set standards at MARA TIMBO CAMP.The whole butler-crew was already with us during construction time and therefore will even be able to answer questions concerning Masai Mara and its nature.
Bush Cuisine:
All meals are Table D’Hote but the camp is flexible to meet other special requests for dietary requirements which will be catered for with utmost pleasure. Our cuisine tops normal Safari standards by far, is internationally orientated and specialized in Italian, Asian and African meals.
You always have the choice between three menus with three courses each, one of them vegetarian. Of course we follow your special needs in terms of time, place and the way you like your meals being prepared.
You dine in the bush under the open African sky at the fireplace in a very romantic setting directly on river bank.
Three little restaurant islands with only a few tables each offer even during lunch or dinner with a lot of privacy for our guests.
For birthdays, on honeymoon or other special anniversaries you have the chance of private candlelight dinner on the terrace of your tent. In MARA TIMBO CAMP we are glad to meet your individual wishes!
Adventure Wilderness
Gamedrives are done only in customised Landcruisers with a capacity of max. seven passengers with comfortable photographic view of the wildlife for everybody.
Two games drives are offered a day from dawn with the expertise of a professional, friendly and knowledgeable driver/guide. The guide will give you detailed information about the animals, variety species of birds, plants, the area, migration, and the local people. Every game drive will be a totally different experience due to the vast plains of Masai Mara game reserve. The gamedrives are informative, exciting and flexible to meet your day’s schedule.
You can even go for a fully day gamedrive. In this case we will supply our guests with lunchboxes to have your meal within the savannah. On special cases, through your travel agency, exclusive use of vehicle can be organized on extra charges.
Acess-Getting To Mara Tombo Camp:The drive into the camp from the Kichwa Tembo airstrip is already a safari on it’s own with various spotting of elephants, antelopes, probably “big cats” and birdlife. Experienced Tour guides and Maasai-Ascaris, who have been living in this environment for centuries already, are available for any kind of information and keep animals within permitted proximity. |
