Loisaba Lodge, Laikipia Loisaba Lodge in Loisaba Wilderness is located on the 25,000ha private ranch in the northern part of Laikipia in northern Kenya.Loisaba lodge is by far the most commercial property in this area. This six room lodge has an atmosphere more like a small boutique hotel than a safari lodge, where guests are perhaps more on holiday than on safari. Constructed from stone, local timber and thatch, Loisaba lodge is perched high on the edge of the plateau looking south towards Mount Kenya. Each room has large French windows that open onto a private deck cantilevered off the escarpment. The views are legendary, and a water hole a few hundred feet below draws continuous wildlife. Loisaba lodge has been extensively been refurbished to provide exclusive accommodation for up to twelve guests in six rooms each seemingly suspended off the edge of the escarpment.Decorated in subtle, ethnic moods, each room has its own en-suite bathroom and a large private deck or veranda. In tune with the relaxed informality of life here, meals are served wherever you may choose, at a large communal dining table where tales of the day are shared or, on colder nights, in front of a roaring log fire; in the romantic privacy of a private deck or next to the pool in the midday heat. Best of all – out in the bush, on the banks of the river or high up on the cliffs in face of the evening breezes and the setting of the sun. Wherever you are, you will be looked after by a small team of friendly staff, chosen not only for their deep sense of African hospitality but also for their intimate knowledge of the surrounding bush, its wildlife, people and ways. At Loisaba Lodge an extraordinary range of safari activities are on offer and includes:- game-drives, walks, camel riding, quad-biking and ballooning, as well as tennis, croquet, pool and a spa back at base.
