Saruni Wild is a 5-tents camp located at the very heart of the Masai Mara ecosystem, in a community-owned conservancy called Lemek. Elegantly and comfortably furnished with all the necessary luxuries of a wild yet classic safari, the camp is in the plains and makes a great complement to Saruni Mara and Basecamp Mara Houses, both located on the hills overlooking it.


Saruni Wild has all the essential amenities of a luxury camping experience, including en-suite bathrooms, hot showers and flushing loos, and spacious verandas with beautiful views. It can accommodate a maximum of 12 guests, so Saruni Wild has the atmosphere of the classic African bush camps, where personalized service, intimate atmosphere and super location make the difference. In fact, it is surrounded by tens of thousands of acres of pristine, untouched wilderness and the wildlife thrive right next to the tents.


The team is a Maasai team, where most of them come from the families who own the stunning land where the camp is located. Lemek is famous for the diversity of its landscape and of its fauna.

Accommodation

Saruni Wild is small and intimate. It has 4 double tents and 1 family tent. The total capacity is for 12 guests: a privilege to share your African experience in such an atmosphere, that brings you back to the classic bush camps of the past, but with all the modern facilities. All tents can fit one extra bed to accommodate an additional person.

Luxury Tents-4

The four large, double tents are en-suite, each accommodating 2 people. Furnished in traditional safari style, Each has a spacious bathroom comprising of flushing toilets, hand basin and enclosed bucket showers area, where wonderful hot showers can be enjoyed. Each tent has a beautiful verandah that overlooks over the Masai Mara plains, where plenty of wildlife roam day and night.

Luxury Family Tent-1

The family tent has two en-suite bedrooms accommodating 4 people. It also has two bathrooms on the opposte ends of the tent, comprising of flushing toilets, hand basin and enclosed bucket showers that provide wonderful hot water showers. The two en-suite bedrooms are comfortably and stylishly furnished with big beds, hot water showers. The spacious verandah has side tables and chairs.

Saruni Wild is located in the heart of the Masai Mara plains, on the border between Lemek Conservancy and Mara North Conservancy. Surronded by tens of thousands acres of prestine, untouched wilderness, the camp has the most classic Masai Mara setting. The wildlife thrive right next to tents.

Wildlife Encounters

Set amongst teeming plains game, wildlife is found all around the camp, as the tents are situated within their natural habitat. The Mara-Serengeti eco system, of which the Lemek Conservancy and Saruni Wild is a part, has the highest density of predators and plains game of any wilderness in the world, and is home to the most thrilling, awe-inspiring natural spectacle on the planet – the Great Migration.

Unique Warrior Programme

Saruni Wild is the perfect location for our ‘Warriors Academy’ programme, where guests spend a few days learning the survival skills of the revered Maasai warriors, taking part in teaching in the same way as a junior warrior learn to track animals and craft tools on the plains of the Masai Mara. This is a particularly exciting activity for families with children.

Community Focused

Saruni Wild is fully involved in supporting and managing the Mara North Conservancies, which provides jobs, income, training and guidance for the local Maasai people. Tourism directly supports conservation – by visiting Saruni Wild, you are directly giving back to the community who protects this beautiful land, improving their quality of life while at the same time encouraging the purpose for conservation.
